Six Month (I Mean Seven Month) Photos...

I had every intention of having Harrison's six month photos taken last month. However having rsv for two weeks put that on hold! And I learned fast that when your child is sick, your priorities change. So instead, he is seven months and still just as cute. Here are a few of his photos...

Harrison - You are Seven Months Old!

Here is what you have been up to...

You are growing so fast and learning so much!

You are at a very fun stage right now and everything is exciting and new.

You have started eating three meals a day and love everything you have tried so far. We have been giving you a cup with juice, but you don't have the hang of it yet. That doesn't keep you from having fun with it though. You sleep so good at night, going to bed around 7:00 and awaking around 6:00. Most mornings you wake and play in your bed until one of us comes to get you, sometimes you are not as patient.

You are getting around! Between rolling and scooting on your tummy, you can usually get to where you want to go. You started sitting up this month and are very happy to be able to sit and play with some new toys. Your favorite toy right now is your barnyard activity walker, you love the music and lights!

You get very excited about everything! You give the biggest hugs (and hair pulls)! And you always have a big smile for anyone who looks your way. We are so proud of you and thankful that you are such a happy boy!

(And Santa did bring you that tooth, plus another!!!)

Harrison's first Christmas could not have been more perfect!

He enjoyed every moment!

Waking up Christmas morning to see what Santa brought.

The singing dog was fun, but I don't think he quiet knows what to think about him.

Of course no stocking would be complete without a teether...

He quickly got the hang of opening presents,

however he was more interested in eating the paper!!!

The biggest surprise Christmas morning was waking up to two teeth!

(Santa should have brought little man a toothbrush...)

Harrison - You are Six Months Old!

Here is what you have been up to...

You are enjoying everything right now! You are so much fun to be around. You love people and want to be in the center of it all!

Your favorite food is still squash, but you are enjoying oatmeal and fruit in the morning. You have started sleeping on your side and tummy at night. You are so cute, you sleep with your ankles crossed behind you! You recently gave up your paci, and we won't question that!

You are rolling all over. When you are on your tummy you rock back and forth, you are beginning to try to move around. Your Mimi sent you a walker and you move all over the kitchen, which you think is FUN! We are practicing sitting up alone, and you are improving each day.

You are babbling a lot and love to hear yourself! You are beginning to like to look at books with us at night before bed and will 'talk' while we read.

You are so loving, and want to get right up in our faces to kiss and hug. We cannot believe that half a year has gone by. Time is moving so quickly, we are so proud of the sweet little boy you are becoming.

(And a little birdie told us that Santa might be bringing you a tooth for Christmas!!!)

Harrison - You are Five Months Old!

Here is what you have been up to...

You have started baby food and are a big fan of butternut squash and pears, not so much of anything green. You are eating 2 solid meals a day and taking five bottles. Your naps are a little 'off' right now and you are having a little trouble going to sleep at night. I guess you have finally realized that life is going on outside your room!

You have learned to roll from your back to your stomach and to your back again! Right now you are only rolling to your left, but you can still get around. Decorating the house for Christmas was interesting, I stepped around you all day!

You are still very entertained by your feet. You love to pull at your socks and often times put them in your mouth. Footie pajamas are fun!!!

Your smiles and laughter are getting bigger and louder. It is so hard for Daddy and I not to pick you up in the night when you smile so sweetly at us... We are excited for you to experience Christmas and all that it brings. This will be a wonderful year to celebrate!!!

We have several people in our lives right now expecting children. I have been trying to decide what to purchase for them, and I've been asked by others to give suggestions. We were blessed when expecting Harrison to receive so many wonderful gifts. I had registered for a lot of what we received and purchased some things myself at the end. There have been hits and misses... But these items below are my (and Harrison's) all time favorites. Hopefully I will look back at this post one day in the future when I need these again ;)

Zo Li Nail Trimmer

I honestly thought this was very silly when I first saw it, but after using it I wished it had been with us since day one! H's nails grow faster than anything I've ever seen. And the older he gets the more he is on the move (and the harder it is to trim those nails)! This product is wonderful. It gently vibrates and files down nails and toenails safely and painlessly. Harrison just sits and watches me as I trim his nails, it makes a little vibrating sound that he thinks is funny. If I could choose one gift to get every expecting mom... this is IT!

Summer Baby Touch Infant Monitor

My dad was the one that insisted we get a video monitor for peace of mind, and I'm thankful he did. This monitor has been wonderful to have! It is portable and the size of my iphone. I take it with me while I'm doing things around the house and I can 'look' in on H whenever I need. It also docks to recharge and you can keep the video and/or audio all night while doing so. It has a very clear image and sound, does not interfere with our other electronics and you can even purchase additional cameras for other rooms of your home (perfect for those with more than one child).

Aden & Anais Swaddle Blankets

My friend Kacey purchased our first set of Aden and Anais blankets for us. H used them as swaddles every day when he was a newborn. They are the perfect blanket! They are made of muslin, are a wonderful weight and so versatile. They now are used as a light weight blanket for nap time, a car seat cover, play mat, and cuddle buddy. They fold up small enough that I keep one in H's diaper bag all the time. I only wish they made them for adults!!!

October Fun!

October was a busy month, filled with lots of fun for our family and baby Harrison!

We decorated our porch for the season. Until it turned too cold this past week, Harrison and I have enjoyed sitting on the porch each evening watching all the neighborhood activity.

We have been cheering on our Dawgs! Well, daddy and Harrison have (mommy has been sneaking in a few naps).

Harrison went to his first fall festival...

He enjoyed getting to be with his dad and being outside!

We had to take a nap break in the middle of the day, but after that he was ready to go!

Our little man was a sock monkey for his first Halloween!

His first stop for trick-or-treating was his Memmaw and Coach's. (Thank goodness he received a book instead of candy... Next year I'm sure we won't get away with that!)

We went to do more trick-or-treating with friends... Harrison's buddy EC was such a cute little bug!

All that activity sure can wear a little boy out!!!

Four Months!

Harrison - You are Four Months Old!

Here is what you have been up to...

You are eating 5-6 ounces every 4 hours. You are taking two longs naps a day and a cat nap around 5:00. You like to put yourself to sleep at night, we think to get all the wiggles out.

You have learned that you can 'talk' and you do so a lot. We have to laugh because sometimes you get carried away and scare yourself!

This past week you discovered your feet. Now you are amazed by them. It won't be long until we are sure you will have them in your mouth.

We are enjoying your big smiles and sweet laughs! You are so happy and a joy to be around. Each day you change so much, you are growing right before our eyes.

Three Months!

Harrison - You are Three Months Old!

Here is what you have been up to...

You are eating 4-6 ounces every 3 hours. Your naps have begun to get a little longer, although sometimes all you need is half an hour. You sleep so soundly at night, and love to be in your own bed.

You have started to enjoy playing a lot. You like to be with toys on your blanket, bouncing in your seat and recently we have been putting you in your exersaucer (with lots of padding all around)! It is so exciting to see you discover all the new things around you.

A few weeks ago you started going with me to work a few hours each day. You seem to enjoy being around the other babies in the nursery, and getting spoiled by all the ladies who fight to hold you... I love being able to look in on you when I want and watch you play. We have been so proud of how well you have done eating, sleeping and playing away from home.

You are 'talking' more and more each day. You have also started smiling a lot! I think you will soon be laughing, especially at your daddy. Last week you started grasping things and now love to hold on to anything you can get, at night you like holding and rubbing your lovey while we rock to sleep.

What's Old is New Again!

It is a family tradition on my mom's side that each child has their photo taken in "THE OVERALLS'! Every time this occurs I think my mom must hold her breath hoping they don't fall apart. They are over 75 years old, and have been with her now for about 50 of those years. I am so glad that Harrison was about to continue this tradition, and he did so looking too cute!!!

Two Months!

Harrison - You are Two Months Old!

Here is what you have been up to...

You are still doing great with your own schedule. You are eating 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours. You nap, but we call them power naps! Half an hour seems to be all you need sometimes and you are ready to go again.

Your focusing has improved so much, you follow us all around the room with your eyes. You enjoy lying on your quilt in the living room so you can be part of the action. It is so fun to watch you move around when you are down there, those little legs really get going!

The week before you turned two months we stopped with the swaddling. We were worried it would keep you awake all night, but you must have been ready because you never missed it. You have done so well with putting yourself to sleep at night. We feed, rock and then lay you down awake. Then we watch you on the video monitor while you 'talk' and unwind. You decided that a paci is not so bad, but you only want it when you are tired or overwhelmed. And thankfully you have not wanted to start sleeping with it!

You have begun to 'talk' to us some! One of our favorite sounds you make sounds like you are saying, 'Hey'! You have also started to smile at us and we love it, especially that first smile of the morning. We are so blessed and love to see what each day brings with you in our lives.

Harrison - You are One Month Old Today!

Here is what you have been up to...

You have put yourself on a wonderful schedule since coming home from the hospital. You eat 3-4 ounces every 3-4 hours, stay awake about an hour, then nap again until time to eat. You enjoy your bottles and take your time, savoring every drop. Some days you are drowsy, and others wide awake. We love to see your bright eyes exploring the world.

You have started to focus on objects and faces, and seem to love anything red. Your favorite activity is lying on your playmat listening to your giraffe play a tune. You also enjoy riding in your stroller. We cannot wait for the weather to cool so we can take you to the park, you will so enjoy all the sights and sounds.

You love to be swaddled, and your dad does the best job at it. Before starting Moms Morning Out, I need to get you used to not having to be wrapped, but right now you love it too much to stop. We are trying out a paci, you don't know yet it you enjoy it or not. We have decided to let you make that choice.

You are a wonderful, sweet baby. And we are so blessed to have you in our lives!

2 weeks to go!

I do hope once Harrison is born he enjoys having his picture taken more than he has so far. Bless my poor friend Amy (who is also my ultrasound tech), she has tried so many times to get a good close up of Harrison for us, but he does not like to cooperate with her at all! This one has to be the funniest though... he looks like he already has he pouty face down! Everything is going great with him. He is weighing in at around 6 pounds, 5 ounces. I cannot wait to see his sweet little face.

I officially started my maternity leave this week, and now we are just waiting on this little guy to join our family. I sit around thinking if we have everything done that we should... His room is ready, clothes are washed and put away, our bags are packed and by the door and his daddy has now installed the car seat. Looks like we are as ready as we'll ever be!

God is working on so many things in our lives right now, it is so exciting! Each day comes with new blessings and surprises. I know that this next chapter in our marriage is going to be one of the best! When our family of two becomes three...

Pregnancy News - Week 36

Things have been busy around our house lately! The last few weeks have been packed with graduation ceremonies, field trips, last days of school, baby showers, doctors visits and finishing up our birthing classes. We almost haven't had time to realize that Harrison could be here in as little as FOUR weeks!!!

What we have realized is how blessed we are to have so many wonderful people in our lives. Harrison has received so many baby gifts, each one special and unique to the person giving them. Recently I was given a shower at work and one by my mom's childhood friend. Sam was honored at work last week with a bank-wide shower. I thought that was such a special thing for them to do. It seems with pregnancy that the mother and child are always recognized, but the father is often left out. I was so happy for Sam to receive a little 'spotlight'!

Harrison's room and closet has quickly filled up. I sometimes go in, sit and look around amazed by all the wonderful blessings that we have received. I cannot wait for him to enjoy his room and all his toys. And I sure hope he loves to read as much as his father and I do because his collection keeps on growing!

Saturday some of our friends gave Sam and I a wonderful baby shower. Harrison is such a blessed little boy already, I just hope our house can hold all the gifts he has been receiving! The hostess worked so hard on every detail. The food, decorations and atmosphere were perfect. It was a wonderful time to sit back and just celebrate what is about to occur in our lives.

8 weeks to go!

We had a doctor's appointment this week and an ultrasound. I am beginning to come to the realization that soon I will have two men, from the same cloth, living with me! I have joked for months that Harrison will be just like his dad and at each ultrasound appointment he has not failed to prove just that.

Sam can NOT stand to have his photo taken. I'm sure most men will say that too, but for him it is especially true. Well, Harrison seems to be following suit. Each time our sweet ultrasound tech tries to get me a good look at his face, he is going to cover it up with one or both hands! Poor Amy, she worked so hard this time and after 20 minutes we finally got a glimpse...

Pregnancy News - Week 30 (and Easter traditions)

10 weeks to go!!!

I cannot believe that I'm saying that so soon. The last few months have flown by, at least that's how I feel. Sam may tell a different story! I know I have nothing to compare to, but I have had a wonderful pregnancy so far. I would not mind doing it all again... say in a few years!!!

Our birthing classes started last week. We were in a small class with four other couples around our age. It was so nice to talk to people going through the same things. The husbands actually talked more than us women if you can believe that! Our instructor was surprised to say the least. I think Sam enjoyed comparing 'stories' with them!

I have had our Easter decorations out for several weeks now. It was so nice to pack away some things and get ready for spring. Since Sam and I started dating we have had an egg painted each year to symbolize something special about the year. Our collection is getting big!

This year was no exception...

We had a hubby and wife bunny painted. And she is expecting!!!

I cannot wait for next Easter to get Harrison a Baby's First Easter egg painted!

He already has a little basket ready for a collection of his own.

Pregnancy News - Week 29

Harrison and I are getting so big! He is currently about 17 inches long and weighing in at about 3 pounds. (I won't be including my current weight!) Let's just say he is being a lot more active than me! It is so exciting to feel his kicks, turns and flops. Sam and I start our class birth classes tomorrow night. That should be interesting for us both!!!

Harrison and I had an exciting day at work last Thursday. My class surprised me with a baby shower. I don't know who had more fun... me or the kids. They were so excited! They had known for several days and did a great job keeping it under wraps. The moms of the class thought of everything! They gave Harrison a portable swing, diapers, wipes and me a gift certificate to have his hands and feet done in pottery. What made it even more special was each child bringing in a book for his collection. They had even written their names inside so we can always remember. Thank you to everyone for such a special day!

Since the shower was a surprise, I did not have my camera with me. But I was able to snap a picture with my phone of the adorable cookies before they were all gone. They were made to match Harrison's nursery... aren't they the cutest!!!

Pregnancy News - Week 27

Things are moving so fast! My title says week 27, but we are just about to begin week 28! I cannot believe I only have about 12 weeks to go... Part of me is a little sad about that, but mostly I am excited to meet this little guy! We have been so busy! And by 'we' I mean my mom and the hubby. I feel like all I've been doing is eating and sleeping!

My mom has been a one women sewing crew making all these cute things for Harrison and myself. The last time she came to visit, she made these great nursing covers and matching burp cloths. The covers are adjustable and very soft so we can both be comfortable. I'm going to take the burp cloths and have Harrison's monogram put on them. They all turned out so cute, the next time I need a baby shower gift for a nursing mom this is what I'm going to take!

My mom also brought Harrison a new gown to wear while in the hospital. I love these gowns and think he may not wear anything else the first fews weeks of life!

Not to be outdone, the hubby found the perfect pottery barn lamp for the nursery. Let me just say, my husband is as manly as they come... but he has great taste!

My mom also made a 'sac bag' to house grocery sacks in. This may not excite most people, but I love it. I have a diaper genie, but doubt I will ever use it. So we are going to recycle... at least I will have a use for all those wal-mart bags now!

Months ago I ordered a couple of floor cushions for the nursery. My nephew Jack has some and they are great for playing on the floor. They also fit on top of Harrison's toy boxes so we can use them for extra seating too.

And I would love to say that I worked SO hard putting together our new stroller, but I can't. It's a car seat carrier that folds up in about two seconds with one hand. (That's about how long it took to put together too...) This is what I wanted from the beginning. I'm not a fan of the travel systems and we registered for a great lightweight stroller for when Harrison is older. This stroller should last until he is old enough for the other...

Here are a few pictures from the nursery. I love it! It has turned out just like I saw it in my head. My mom did a great job on the bedding and curtains. And she and I learned we aren't bad at putting together a bookshelf, though next time we probably won't do it in the middle of the night!!!

We were so excited to find out this week that we are having a boy! Over the last few months I have been 'thinking' of nursery ideas. Now, I can finally start planning! Here are a few of my favorite things...

Our crib and dresser - we go to pick up on Saturday! The dresser that I picked out is a little different than this picture. Ours has six drawers and no cabinet. Both will be in an espresso finish.

The Substitute...

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became a man and lived the perfect life we couldn’t live. He then died on a cross as the Substitute for the sins we committed. Give each child one crescent roll triangle, (this represents Christ's tomb) then one marshmallow (representing His body). Next, dip the marshmallow in the melted butter and roll around in the cinnamon and sugar (representing the oil and spices that were anointed on Christ's body). Lay the marshmallow on the crescent and carefully wrap, making sure that all seems are closed. Bake according to package directions and let cool. Break open the 'tomb' and show your child how Christ has risen and share in His love!

I've been so excited to get out my Easter decorations, the house it beginning to feel like spring has sprung! (Despite the fact that 'spring cleaning' has not...)

My McCarty rabbits were so happy to come out of hiding...

Thankfully Pier One still had a bunny topiary left for me!

A few decorations for the kitchen, my jelly bean jar had jelly beans in it before hubby got to it!!!

And I'm always excited to get out my painted egg collection, it's so much fun to look back and remember each one...

Spring break is here, even if mother nature doesn't agree!!! I have used these cool days (and even cooler nights) to get back to some crafting. So hoping Jack loves his new Easter bucket! I don't know what I ever did without my Cricut!!! I didn't want this to be too 'Easter' so Jack couldn't use it for other things, and you can't tell from the photo but the vinyl is a very light blue. The poor kid wouldn't know what to do if everything we did for him didn't match his room!!! Now to get this bucket filled and to a very special bunny...

Looking for a quick, easy project for a rainy afternoon?

I've been wanting something to hang above my fireplace screen for fall but just could not find the right something. This afternoon while the rain came down outside, I got together lots of scraps from my craft room and came up with this. I originally wanted to use burlap, but was out. The natural color linen did the trick though. With some leftover ribbon from another project and my rubber stamps, this banner came together in no time!

Back From Hiatus... and Baking up Some Apple Pie!

Hi everyone! It seems that I took an unplanned hiatus from blogging this summer... I suppose I got busy getting everything ready for a new school year. But, I'm getting into my schedule once again and thought I would check back in with the blogging world! I've missed so much! Glad to be back to see all the great fall decorations everyone is posting about. I cannot wait for the weather here in Mississippi to turn cool and crisp. Ready for mums, pumpkins and hayrides! Maybe I'm rushing things a bit, but to make myself think it is fall already I made one of my favorite desserts this week - apple pie!!! It may sound unusual, I know... but give this recipe a try!

Hilda's Apple Pie

You Will Need:

4-5 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced

1 deep dish pie shell

1 1/2 cup sugar

1/8 t. salt

1/2 t. cinnamon

1/2 cup plus 5 T. all purpose flour

3 T. water

1 stick butter

To Make:

Place apple slices in shell. Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon and 5 tablespoons of flour. Sprinkle over apples. Sprinkle on 3 tablespoons of water. Combine remaining ingredients to make a crumbly mixture and crumble over pie. Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 40 minutes.

Treatment for the Windows

I hope 'The Nester' doesn't mind, but I gave my bedroom windows to some treatments. And since I had my mom with me to do the sewing they are real window treatments! (If it had been left up to me I'm sure the glue gun would have made an appearance!)

A friend of mine recently got me this wonderful dupioni silk at a dollar a yard! I have been looking around for bedroom curtains since we moved into our house three years ago so I had an idea of what I wanted. I wanted simple, classic and elegant without going too fancy.

Our bedroom windows were fine with just the wooden blinds, but I just don't think a bedroom is complete without drapes. The great thing about these is once we pull them to it is one large panel of drapes, perfect to block out the day and stay curled up in bed! Hope they don't make us too late for work...

Update on my dad:

His surgery went well and he is recovering in the hospital. If all continues to go well, he will be sent home sometime Monday. Our family is so blessed to have the support we have had. Everyone's prayers, thoughts, visits and cards have meant so much, thank you! He has had the best staff - everyone has worked hard to help him recover as quickly and painlessly as possible. We are thankful for everyone at the Baptist Cardio Unit in Jackson, Mississippi.

Thanks again for the support and please continue to lift him and my mom up in prayers, they will have a tough road ahead of them with his recovery at home and his new 'life change'.

I'm getting ready this morning to travel to Jackson with my sister. Wishing we were just heading out for a Target trip... but, no. Our dad is having heart surgery tomorrow morning. This is very unexpected (he went to their local hospital Monday morning with some chest pains). Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. And please pray for the medical staff that will be working on my dad, I pray that God gives them wisdom, patience, and stamina.

The southern states are steeped in tradition. This includes our condiments! Louisiana has creole sauce, Tennessee it's barbeque sauce, Texas has salsa, and Mississippi has the Comeback Sauce. I believe you could put this sauce on just about anything and it would be good. Try it with seafood or along side your fries for a true southern experience!!!

Mississippi Comeback Sauce

2-3 cloves of garlic
half of a sweet onion
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 t. yellow mustard
kosher salt
fresh ground black pepper
Tobasco (couple of dashes)

In a blender or food processor, chop garlic and onion until finely minced. Add remaining ingredients; blend until well combined.

Our Favorite Little Town

Last weekend hubby and I decided to take a day trip to our old alma mater. Starkville, Mississippi holds a special place in my heart. It is where I met my future husband and some great friends. I was so lucky to spend my college years there. I was also lucky to get to live in the Cotton District, a great historical area that is beautiful to explore... Boursin Potato Gratin

You Will Need:

2 cups heavy cream
2/3 cup Homemade Boursin Cheese with Black Pepper (recipe below) or 1 - 5 ounce package Boursin Cheese with cracked black pepper
2 T. minced shallots
1 clove garlic, minced
2 1/2 pounds red new potatoes, scrubbed and sliced 1/4 inch thick
2 T. snipped chived
2 T. snipped parsley

To Make:

Butter a 13x9x2 inch baking dish. In a heavy 1 1/2 quart saucepan, heat cream, cheese, shallots and garlic over medium heat, stirring until cheese melts.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish in slightly overlapping rows. Generously season with salt and pepper. Pour half of the cheese mixture over potatoes. Sprinkle with chives. Repeat layering with remaining potato slices, more salt and pepper, add cheese mixture.

Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour or until potatoes are tender and top in golden brown. Sprinkle with parsley. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

Homemade Boursin Cheese with Black Pepper

You Will Need:

3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 t. salt
8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 c. butter
2 T. snipped parsley
1 to 2 T. coarsely ground black pepper

To Make:

In a small bowl, make a paste with the garlic and salt; set aside. In a food processor or large mixer, process or beat together cream cheese, butter, parsley, pepper and garlic mixture until smooth. Cover and store for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator. Serve at room temperature or transfer to a 2-cup oven-safe dish and bake in a 350 degree oven about 10 minutes. Serve with crackers. Makes about 1 1/3 cups.

I'm a big fan of Starbucks! I love to visit their drive-thru on hot afternoons for a nice, cool pick-me-up. But let's face it, if I did that too often I'd go broke! One of my favorite drinks is a iced green tea lemonade. Recently I ran across a recipe that I thought might be similar (and maybe keep me from pulling through that line so often). Saturday after working in the yard all morning, I thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprise! Maybe I won't give up on Starbucks all together... but this will be great to make at home!

Iced Green Tea Lemonade with Ginger

You Will Need:
2 cups water
1 cup Splenda (I didn't have any in the house, so I used about 1/2 cup of sugar)
1 teaspoon grated ginger (freezing fresh ginger root will make it very easy to grate)
1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
6 green tea bags (I used tazo)
4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

To Make:
Add water, Splenda, grated ginger and lemon peel to medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to a gentle boil and cook 7-8 minutes. Remove from heat and add green tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes, dunking the bags often. Remove tea bags and stir in lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

To make a cup of iced tea, pour 1/4 cup of the concentrate tea mixture into a glass and add 3/4 cup water. Mix together, add ice and enjoy!

Paint Party!

Just had to join the paint party over at 320 Sycamore!
My favorite paint color is 'Saddle Soap' by Benjamin Moore.
I've yet to find anything that does not look good up next to it.
It's a beautiful khaki/green/gold color.
It really looks different in different light -
love the way it looks after the sun goes down.
Very soothing!!!

A friend of mine has been asking for this recipe for months now.
And well, I just keep forgetting to get it to her.
So, today I thought I would share it so she can have it for her own...

Marinated Green Beans and Artichokes

You Will Need:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 c. apple cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 T. salt
4 (14 1/2 ounce) can whole green beans, drained and rinsed
2 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and quartered

To Make:

Whisk together sugar, oil, vinegar, garlic and salt. Pour oil mixture over beans and artichokes in a 13X9 inch baking dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Serves 12

Baby Shower Time!

Hubby's brother and his wife are expecting their first child soon. This past Sunday some friends of theirs hosted a baby shower for them. They were kind enough to ask if I would like to help... with the GAMES! OK - let me first say... I DO NOT like baby shower games. I do not like to see who can go the longest without saying 'baby', I do not want to guess what baby food I am eating or who has the dirty diaper. But I found the greatest blog post recently saying that if you make the games look nice, everyone will happily play along. Thought I would give that a try...

Here is one of the games that we played.

"Guess the Girth"
(aka. How Big is Mommy's Belly)

Each guest received a packaged length of twine. We then passed around scissors and everyone had to guess how much would reach around Mom's belly. It was actually a lot of fun, of course it helped that the Mom-to-Be has a great sense of humor!

To add a little 'pretty' to the game, I made individual packages of twine. I neatly coiled the twine and added little tags made of card stock and stamped with tiny baby feet. I think they turned out so cute, and maybe my reservations about baby shower games has faded a little!

Frugal Friday - Frugal Frames

and I thought I would join in...

A co-worker and I have been getting crafty since school let out last week. These frames are one thing we've been doing to put back in our gift closets. So easy to do, just cover some flat canvases (whatever size you wish - I used small square ones for these) with fabric. Pull tight and hot glue fabric in back. Next, cut a square of coordinating fabric for the back and cover to hid your seems. Hot glue on some ribbon for hanging and it's ready for the frame. I picked up some cheap plastic magnetic frames and removed the magnets. Just glue them in place (again I used hot glue) and your done! Ready to give or to use yourself!!!

Some Graduation Fun (and a project!)

I recently had my class's Kindergarten Graduation.
It was full of excitement and farewells.
Thought I would share some of our reception photos...

How cute was our cake?
A co-worker made it for us and it was great.
The bible verse is our school's motto.
And the hat? Pure chocolate!!!

We displayed some of the kid's work from the year
and some token's for them to take home.
(To tell you how many kids I had this year...
there was an additional group of these not pictured!)

Each child had an area for family and friends to view at the reception.
The tiles were a gift to their parents -
the kids actually kept them a secret!!!)

I thought they turned out great, a real keepsake for years to come!!!

Here's What I Used to Make the Tiles...

So easy to do...

I took a black and white photo of each child and burned the edges with a lighter for some interest. I then glued each picture to a 10X10 ceramic tile with E-6000. Then, of course I had to use some Mod Podge! (No project is complete without it.) I brushed a thin layer on to seal the photo to the tile. Each child then wrote their name under their photo and we painted and stamped their handprints with Enamels. This paint worked great, you let it set for 21 days or you can bake your project in the oven to set. We had a lot of fun making these and I hope the parents will enjoy them.

Twix Cookies

You Will Need:

35 Kraft Caramels, unwrapped
1/4 c. water
1 Box Nabisco Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookies (40 pcs.)
2 - 12 oz. bags milk chocolate chips

To Make:

Combine the caramels with the water in a small pan and melt over low heat.

Place the shortbread cookies side by side on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Spoon a dab of caramel onto each cookie. Then place all the cookies in fridge until caramel firms.

While caramel is setting, melt chocolate chips in a double boiler over low heat. (Or you may use the microwave...)

Remove cookies from fridge. Rest each cookie on a fork and dip into chocolate. Tap fork on the side of pan or bowl to remove excess. Then place each cookie on a sheet of wax paper and let them cool at room temperature.

This will take several hours, but the bars are best this way. If you are in a hurry, place them back in the fridge for 30 mins.

Variation: Peanut Butter Twix Cookies - substitute 1 cup peanut butter mixed with 1/2 cup powdered sugar for caramel. Follow other directions exactly.

A Little Something...

But I wanted to take a minute and show you the cute mother's day gifts I made for my mom and mother-in-law. I wanted to do something special, yet inexpensive... so I came up with two more of these. Man - I'm loving this scrapbook paper!!!

Chicken Tortilla Soup with a Twist

(This is a very different style of tortilla soup, the bacon gives it a very different flavor. And come on, who doesn't like bacon?!?)

You Will Need:
2 cans of chicken broth
1 lb. chicken tenderloins
l lrg. can crushed tomatoes
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms
2 canned chipotle peppers (canned in adobo sauce)
6-7 slices of bacon
grated mozzarella cheese
tortilla chips

To Make:
Cook the chicken tenderloins in chicken broth; takes about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, fry the bacon crisp and set aside.
Chop 2 chipotle peppers and reserve liquid from can.
In bacon drippings, saute the onion, minced garlic, mushrooms and peppers.
Add 2 tablespoons of the canned chipotle liquid and the crushed tomatoes to the sauteed veggies.
Chop the chicken into bite size pieces and add back to broth.
Next, add the tomato mixture to broth and stir together.
Cook for 10 minutes.
Serve the soup over broken tortilla chips and top with grated mozzarella and bacon crumbles.

(Serves 6)

Show Us Where You Live Friday

LIVING ROOM EDITION!

Kelly, over at Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Where You Live Friday! I had so much fun last week looking at everyone's kitchens that I thought I would join in!

Our entry table with the monogrammed frame I made a while back. The basket underneath is one that we received (filled with food) as we left for our honeymoon.

These chairs belonged to hubby's mom and are an awful color underneath - it's amazing what you can do with slipcovers!

Our sofa and sofa table. This is the one spot I like to change up in our living room. Right now I'm getting ready to change out the pillows.

Our fireplace - not much you can say here. The rabbits are some of my pottery collection.

My favorite place in the living room. Perfect to sit with a great book!

One reason I love to read other's blogs... For the past few years I've been searching for window treatments for this room of our house. I want to keep them simple and clean. Thanks to Susie and some others, I think I know what I want to do!

Make It Yourself Insect Spray

I'm participating in Works-For-Me-Wednesday over at We Are That Family. We are supposed to share a money saving/frugal tip. So, today I thought I would share with you a quick, easy and cheap way to keep those insects off your plants and flowers!!! (This spray helps control insects such as aphids, mealy bugs, cabbage worms and even spider mites.)

Garlic Insect Spray

You will need 3 cloves of garlic (crushed), 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil, 4 cups of water and 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap. Combine the garlic and vegetable oil and let sit overnight. Strain and add the water. Next add the liquid soap. Pour into a hand sprayer and spray the tops and underneath of your plants. Store in a closed container in the fridge. (I found that an ordinary spray bottle works great and you can close the nozzle to store.) This spray kept lost of pesky insects off my basil plants last summer! Works for Me!

One of the girls from my bunko group introduced me to this recipe and I'm hooked! So easy and so good!!!

Carrot Souffle

You Will Need:

1 lb carrots (the baby ones are great, no pealing)
1/2 c. melted butter
2 eggs
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 T. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
(I also think it would be great with a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon...)

To Make:

Cook carrots until tender in boiling water. Drain. Combine carrots and butter in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well.

Spoon mixture into lightly greased 1 quart casserole or souffle dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until firm. Serve while hot. Serves 6.

No Time to Blog...

The past week has been super busy and I haven't had a lot of time to blog. I'm trying to wrap up classes and get 18 kindergartners ready for graduation. Did I mention we are putting on a play that night too? And we are rehearsing each day? I think I could say their speaking parts in my sleep. I'm also trying to put together a reception following the graduation ceremony. I have some cute crafts to show, but I don't want any of their parents to see before hand... so I'll show you later! Thankfully my parents came up this weekend to stay with us. While hubby and my dad went to look at an antique car show, my mom and I got to work on some graduation musts. Let's just say we both are pros at working a laminating machine now!

But of course we took a break to do a little shopping. We ran over to Lowes while she was here and got herbs for her, myself and my sister. My sister has always had a green thumb when it came to growing herbs, I'm hoping she can help me this year. I picked up some great starters though, rosemary, parsley, basil, oregano and pineapple sage. The pineapple sage blooms bright red blooms, I'm hoping it might attract hummingbirds. I filled up my two herbs pots and have them close to the back door for easy cooking access. Here's hoping that they survive in my care!

Off to do a little blog stalking, I feel like I've missed so much. (Oh, and if anyone has tips for keeping my herbs alive - please let me know!)

Microwave Cleaning...

Here's a great quick way that I've been cleaning our microwave oven...

Place a microwave-safe bowl with 2 cups water, 1/2 cup vinegar inside the microwave and microwave on full power for 3-4 minutes (it needs to boil). Keep your microwave closed for a few minutes to allow the steam to loosen the grime, then open your microwave, carefully remove the bowl, and wipe clean! (Sometimes I even put in a slice of lemon if I have one to give it a nice clean smell.) Works for Me!

Motivate Me Monday

I wanted to start this week off right, so I thought I would join up with Sarah Mae and her Motivate Me Monday group. We are supposed to share what God is doing in our lives or something that He is showing us. Well, a few weeks ago God started showing me that I needed to prioritize. You may remember my post about 'The List' from Motivated Moms. That is helping me to stay on track around the house! But, of course when we Christians decide to listen more to God and make the changes we think He is guiding us toward, we are faced with such challenges! This past week nothing went as planned and I kept getting so irritated that I couldn't (or wouldn't) find the time to do what I had planned. So, I've spent the weekend thinking about what I did wrong last week - and of course it was not handing it over to Him! I need to let God guide me in seeing what my priorities should be.

I am noticing in most of the magazines I've been flipping through that anything goes. Designers are mixing the old and the new, vintage and modern, neutrals and bolds. This example from Better Homes and Gardens really caught my eye. They took an old gold chandelier and a can of spray paint - and it's fabulous! A punch of color that really adds character to that room. I think this would be a great idea for a bath too.

Tiger Butter

(To my sweet co-worker, who hinted around for some of this for your birthday... I hope you enjoyed!!!)

You Will Need:
White Chocolate (1 pkg. almond bark or two pkgs. white chocolate chips)
Milk Chocolate (1 pkg. chocolate chips)
Peanut Butter (spoon as much as you want, maybe about a cup and a half...do what looks good to you)

To Make:
Melt the white chocolate and milk chocolate in separate microwave safe bowls. Add peanut butter to white chocolate after it is melted. Stir until smooth.

Line a jelly roll pan with foil or waxed paper and then pour the white chocolate/peanut butter mixture in the pan.

Spread it out. Drizzle the milk chocolate over the top (use it all). With a butter knife, cut through the drizzles so that it swirls.

Put in freezer until it hardens. Break up into pieces and serve. Keep extras in fridge.

I Heart Lists!

Hi, my name is Nicole and I am a listaholic! I make list about everything... groceries, housecleaning, decorating ideas, and of course we have a never ending house to-do list. I just feel more in control if it is written down. So, I was very excited when my sister showed me a site called Motivated Moms. (Ok - I know I'm not a mom yet, but wives need a little help too.) Their website, motivatedmoms.com has wonderful products such as a printable chore planner. I downloaded and printed off my first list last week and I'm loving it. Each week is broken down by daily and weekly tasks. I've had time to do each thing listed after I get home from work and while I'm getting dinner ready. It has helped me really get a handle on my housecleaning and chores that needed to be done. This is one list that I know I will be completing!

Easter Thoughts...

I received an email from a friend yesterday that summed up what I've been thinking the past few days as I consider what God has done for me...

A Substitute.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became a man and lived the perfect life we couldn’t live. He then died on a cross as the Substitute for the sins we committed. When He rose from the grave that first Easter Sunday, God proved to all that the death Christ died was sufficient to pay for the sins that demanded our death.

Forgiveness of sins is therefore given to any person who believes and trusts in Christ’s death on their behalf.

In our crisis and inability, Christ became our Substitute and satisfied the demands of a just God.

For Christ died for sins once for all, the Righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body, but made alive by the Spirit (1 Peter 3:18).

May you all have a blessed Easter and remember the one who became our 'Substitute'.

I wanted to let everyone in on one of my new favorite products. Several months ago my complexion went a little, well off. I don't know what happened but I felt like a teenager again! And the redness - ugh!!! So, while a friend and I were out shopping one day we ran across this. I love bare minerals makeup and have worn it for years, but I've never tried any of their rare mineral products. I was a little hesitant about the cost (I think it was around 25 bucks), but all their products last forever... so I gave it a try. I LOVE it! The only downside was the sulfur smell, but the sulfur helps reduce redness so I can live with a little smell.

A little bit of this stuff goes a long way so I'm expecting it to last. I've been wearing it at night after washing my face before bed, but I've tried it under my makeup too. I can't believe the difference it has made. Nothing drastic at first, it took several weeks to see a change. But now I really can say - this stuff works! It has really calmed my skin down. Maybe this is the answer to adult skin 'issues'.

Baby Jack, if you are reading this cover your eyes! I had to show off Jack's Easter happies from Hubby and I. Jack has the aunt who always has to include a book with everything! So, for Easter I got him one of my favorites - "I Love You Stinky Face". Yeah, not very related to the holiday, but I think it will be one he will love for years to come. We also added a new pair of sunglasses for him, he loves to wear shades and keeps them on! And while I've been stuck inside all week I got busy with some cute iron on transfers I picked up at Hobby Lobby a while back. Jack now has a new onesie and burp cloth set for Easter Sunday afternoon...

Resurrection Rolls

I'm at home today a little disappointed. I've been send home by our doctor with pneumonia, and told to stay here! Well, the first day was ok - caught up on some rest and tv viewing. Now, I'm just bored! I feel so silly - I can get up and do something and then just have to sit down to catch me breath! It's like I've aged overnight! I am disappointed about today and not getting to go to work. Each year I spend this day celebrating Easter with my class. I love to tell the story of Christ's resurrection with Resurrection Rolls, and since I won't be there today with them maybe some of you can share this great recipe and story with a child you love...

Resurrection Rolls

You Will Need:
1 Can Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
8 Large Marshmallows
Melted Butter
Cinnamon & Sugar Mixture

To Make:
Give each child one crescent roll triangle, (this represents Christ's tomb) then one marshmallow (representing His body). Next, dip the marshmallow in the melted butter and roll around in the cinnamon and sugar (representing the oil and spices that were anointed on Christ's body). Lay the marshmallow on the crescent and carefully wrap, making sure that all seems are closed. Bake according to package directions and let cool. Break open the 'tomb' and show your child how Christ has risen and share in His love!

Spring Onion Soup

Spring Onion Soup

You Will Need:
2 cups chopped green onions
2 T. unsalted butter
1 T. olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 T. sherry
3 cans (14.5 ounces) low-sodium beef broth
1 T. lemon juice
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
5 slices French bread
1 clove garlic, peeled and halved
5 slices Gruyere cheese

To Make:
Blanch the Green Onions - Fill a large bowl with water and ice and set aside. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add green onions and blanch about 1 minute. Transfer to ice bath to cool. Drain and set aside.

Make the Soup - Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Heat 1 T. butter and olive oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until golden (about 8 minutes). Add the sherry and cook 2 minutes, then add beef broth. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, salt, pepper and remaining butter. Rub bread slices with garlic, place on baking sheet and toast in oven for 2 minutes. Top each slice of toast with 1 slice cheese and bake until cheese melts and tops are golden. Add the green onions to the soup, divide soup among bowls, and top with cheese toast.

Blogging Perks

Well, when I first started blogging I thought it would be a fun way to stay in touch and connect with people. I've also found it is a great creative outlet - I enjoy 'stalking' others to see what great decorative ideas or recipes they are sharing. I had no idea however that my blog might one day feed my family... This week the neatest thing happened. I received an email from the Rhodes bread company thanking me for mentioning their products in one of my blog posts. To thank me, they offered to send me some of their new warm-n-serve products. When I came home from work today their package was waiting for me (packed in dry ice, which I think my kindergarten class will find interesting when I show them tomorrow). So, you never know what exciting things may happen in the world of blogging:)

Touches of Spring

I spent the weekend finally adding some spring touches to the house. Not much, just a little here and there. It has been so nice to enjoy the fresh air, spring plants blooming and the spirit of new beginning about...

Isn't this cross great? Some friends gave it to hubby and I for Christmas and I couldn't wait to hang it on the front door for Easter. (Please ignore all the yellow pollen coating the door - it's everywhere in Mississippi right now...)

My mom gave me this carrot a year or two back, it welcomes everyone up our walkway.

My pottery cabinet even got an update with my egg plate and some little animals who came by...

Hubby and I have been collecting these painted eggs long before we even married. My mom gets us each one every year.

This year she had us a banker bunny and a teacher bunny made - aren't they adorable?

And of course I couldn't forget my egg wreath. I'll never forget the Saturday my mom and I sat and made these. (I think we still have the hot glue scars to prove it:)

Break Me Off a Piece...

My sister recently told me about a pie being served at a restaurant in their town. While listening the wheels were turning and I knew I could come home and re-create that pie. It sounded like hubby's dream pie!!! Chocolate and peanut butter! So, I gave it a try and it turned out great. Very rich though, a small slice will do...

Kit-Kat Peanut Butter Pie

You Will Need:
1 8-ounce pkg. cream cheese
1 cup conf. sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter (I used creamy)
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup cool-whip
1 8-inch graham cracker crust
8 snack size Kit-Kat bars (16 in all)

To Make:
Unwrap and break apart Kit-Kats. Place in food processor and pulse several times until you have small 'pieces'. Set aside. Whip cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in sugar and peanut butter. Slowly add milk and blend well. Fold in cool-whip into mixture. Gently stir in Kit-Kat pieces. Spoon mixture into pie crust and freeze.

Happy First Day of Spring!

What is it about the beginning of spring that makes us want to change? Is it the change going on all around us? Usually I focus on changing things such as my current weight, exercise level, or housecleaning schedule... but this spring I've decided to do something to change my down time. Instead of ending up in front of the television watching another food network challenge (not that I'm giving up on the food network!), I've decided to join Callapidder Days' Spring Reading Thing.

I have to make a list of books that I would like to read between March 20th and June 20th. This will be so easy - I love to read! When I was a little girl I would spend hours on end lost in books. I've always regretted that as an adult I stopped taking time for that hobby. So over the next few months I'm going to make it a priority in my life.

Here is my list so far...

The Passion of Mary-Margaret by Lisa Samson
Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult
Take One by Karen Kingsbury (I can't wait to get into her new series)
The Choice by Nicholas Sparks

I gave hubby a bachelor's weekend and went to stay with my sister and Baby Jack. He has grown so much since I last saw him, that's getting hard for us all to see! Here he is enjoying his new swing and the Disney Channel...

Jack is such a good baby (despite the fact that he is having a hard time with evening colic...). My sister and her hubby are doing a great job, they are wonderful first time parents. And he is getting spoiled by his Mimi and Papa!
After spending the weekend with them and seeing how much they are hurting when he has his colic fits at night, I wanted to ask those of you reading... do you have any advice that you could share?

On another topic...
I have never prided myself on being a bargain shopper. Other people I know find great deals all over the place and I seem to be just a step or two behind. This week however I found some! My mom and I spotted this Delonghi espresso maker marked down from 250.00 to 32.00 - tried it out last night and it worked great!
I finally have a use for my espresso cups from McCartys!!!

Earlier in the week I also stumbled across a Cole Haan shipment at TJ Maxx, I grabbed these great sunglasses which were originally priced at 150.00. I got them for 19.99. I hope these bargain thing holds out while I look for some new spring clothes...

I found this recipe recently at The Recipe Club and knew it would be something hubby would love. I changed up it a bit from their original recipe to suit us. It turned out great! And the leftovers were great too...

Pesto Chicken Stromboli

You Will Need:
1 Rhodes Rolls frozen bread loaf ( I was a little questionable about finding this, but it was located in the freezer section of our grocery store with the other frozen rolls...)
1/2 cup pesto sauce
2 cups cooked shredded chicken
1 1/2 cups mozzarella
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 egg, lightly beaten

To Make:
Thaw bread loaf according to package directions. (It took just a few hours sitting out a room temp.) On a greased counter top, roll the bread out to a rectangle about the size of a cookie sheet. Spread pesto all over leaving a 1 inch edge. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of parm cheese over pesto. Sprinkle on mozz and chicken. Next, roll jelly roll style starting at the long end. Roll until it makes a long tube. Place on greased cookie sheet, making sure your seem is on the bottom. Tuck ends under. Brush the top with egg and sprinkle with garlic salt and left over parm. Cut slits along the top to vent. Let rise 30 minutes and then bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Spring Green

I saw this alligator scrapbook paper last weekend while wandering around hobby lobby and just had to think up a use for it. The picture below doesn't do it justice, it's really springy GREEN! I had a little dark corner of our den that I thought need a pop of color, so this is what I came up with. HL also has these great little magnets that I used for the initial. Whatcha' think?

My birthday was a while back I didn't show off the great gifts I received! Don't know what I was thinking... I can't wait for things to slow down a bit so I can rearrange things around the house and work in some of my new 'happies'!

Hubby gave me a valentine/birthday gift that I LOVE! (the date is our wedding anniversary)

I've been wanting a bell jar to decorate with, my parents surprised me with this one when we went down for a visit.

My sweet friend Terri Lynn gave me this awesome bowl! I'm going to add my hand painted eggs closer to Easter.

And the last two here are from my sister, I love the silver candle snuffer. And of course the new photo of Baby Jack is my fav by far.

We've been wanting something a little different for dinner, so I thought I would try out a recipe I got a while back. And since it uses a crock-pot, what could be easier?

French Dip Sandwiches with Au Jus

You Will Need:

4 lbs beef rump roast
2 envelopes dried onion soup mix
2 t. sugar
1 t. dried oregano
1 T. minced garlic
2 cans (10 1/2 ounces) beef broth
1 bottle (12 ounces) beer
Provolone
Crusty French Rolls

To Make:

Trim fat from beef. Place roast in crock-pot. Combine soup mix, sugar, oregano, garlic, broth and beer in a large bowl. Pour mixture over beef. Cover and cook on high 6 to 8 hours. Remove beef and shred with fork. Return to cooking liquid. Top slice of roll with provolone and broil in oven until slightly toasted. Top with shredded beef and serve with a small cup of au jus for dipping.

(Half of the recipe will serve about 4 to 6)

Today I want to remember to be thankful for friendships.
Hubby and I have been so lucky to develop a great friendship with a wonderful couple since moving to our town. It's not always common for husbands to get along with each other just because their wives are friends. But 'our guys' are so much alike I don't think it took much for them to relate to one another. We have such a wonderful time when we all get together and it doesn't hurt that we love their little girl like she was our own! I am so thankful that God brought us together! Have a blessed and thankful day!

My Sweet Valentine

I spent my Valentines Day with the cutest guy ever!!! (oh yeah, hubby was there too...)
Sam and I traveled to my parents on Valentines Day to see them and my sister's family. Baby Jack has gotten sooooo big since I've seen him last. He was such a great little guy all day.

He LOVES to cuddle!

And he's a happy baby... just don't let his musical star on his play mat stop singing!!!

His first Valentines Day may have been a bit much for him, a nap was in order...

And just what do you get a two month old for Valentines Day? Well, you go up and down every aisle in Target until you find enough to fill up a basket of course!
